In good news for the candidates who appeared for the banking exams, the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) has announced the result of the preliminary exam for Group B-Office Assistant (Multipurpose) (Clerk). The results can be checked on the official website of the IBPS and they will remain available only till January 27, 2021. The candidates will be able to download their scorecards as well.
STEP 1: First go to official website of IBPS i.e. ibps.in
STEP 2: Click on ‘Click here to View Your Result Status of Online Preliminary Examination for CRP RRB IX – Office Assistant (Multipurpose)’.
STEP 3: A new window will open. Enter your Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth/Password in the space given.
STEP 4: Cross check your entries and then click on the ‘Login’ button.
STEP 5: Your result will appear on the screen.

Government to mobilise ₹250 crore

The government proposes to sell four year dated securities in the form of stock to the public by auction to raise ₹250 crore.
The auction would be held by the Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai Office (Fort) on Monday, a notification from Shurbir Singh, Finance Secretary said.
Interested persons, firms, corporate bodies, institutions, Provident Fund Trusts, Regional Rural Banks and Cooperative Banks can electronically submit a single consolidated non-competitive bid on the RBI’s core banking portal (E-Kuber) on January 25 between 10.30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The competitive bid can also be submitted in the electronic format between 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. the same day.

SFBs penetration in the North-Eastern region remains low
Small Finance Banks (SFBs) have greater concentration of branch network in relatively well-banked States, according to an assessment in the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) latest monthly bulletin.
While there has been a rapid growth in the branch network of SFBs since their inception, this growth has been markedly concentrated in the Southern, Western and Northern regions, which are known as the relatively well-banked regions in the country, RBI officials Richa Saraf and Pallavi Chavan said in an article in the bulletin.
Bank Credit Grows at 5.4 per cent in September Quarter, Says RBI

Bank credit growth on a year-on-year basis stood at 5.4 per cent in September quarter of the current fiscal year compared to 5.7 per cent growth in the previous quarter, RBI data showed. Credit growth for metropolitan branches, which have major share in bank credit, decelerated to 3.3 per cent year-on-year in September 2020 quarter as compared to 4.7 per cent in April-June. It, however, improved for the bank branches in rural, semi-urban and urban areas, according to the data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
