Crappie USA fishing tournament comes to Santee, SC March 2021

Updated: 3:54 PM EST January 17, 2021 SANTEE, S.C. The Santee Cooper Lakes Marion and Moultrie will be the home of a Crappie USA special two-day event in March as the fishing association celebrates its 25th anniversary focusing on crappie anglers. The event is sponsored by Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s and will have crappie fishermen vying for a guaranteed $10,000 payout for one-day events and $20,000 for two-day events. The three two-day events are rescheduled from 2020 because of COVID-19 and will be phased out when completed. Anglers may also compete in the $50,000 points race and an opportunity to qualify for the Regional Championships and the 2021 Crappie USA Classic. The Regional Championships will all feature a $25,000 payback and the Classic will be highlighted by a $165,000 payback.

The nation’s brass-banding community is feeling the pinch after a stop-start nine months without their usual revenue streams. Of all Britain’s amateur music groups, brass bands are among the hardest-working. In a usual summer, they’re out every weekend, playing everything from gala concerts to open-air events. In winter, they pack in festive concerts and carol services, as the rush towards Christmas accelerates. The rehearsal schedule that most adopt – two hours, twice a week – is something to set your watch by, and there are tales of banders who haven’t missed a rehearsal in 30 years.

Correction to 2021 Championship Schedule 12/20/20 USA Diving announced today, the tentative schedule for the 2021 USA Diving Regional, Zone and National Championships. The championship events will begin with the various Regional Championships around the country the weekends of April 30 – May 2 and May 7–9, 2021. These events will lead into USA Diving Zone Championships which will take place the weekends of June 25 – 27 or July 1 – 4, 2021. The Junior Championship events will culminate with qualified divers competing at the Junior National Championships July 28 – August 3 followed by Junior Pan Ams and Junior World Championship Synchro Trials August 4, 2021 at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis Ind. “We are excited to look towards getting back to competition in 2021,” said President of USA Diving, Lee Michaud, “These events and their participants represent the future of USA Diving.
