(Photo by Sarah Thompson) Story Location: rockland  MaineUnited States ROCKLAND  Rockland police say a medical emergency may have caused a Rockland woman to lose control of a vehicle on Main Street, midday Thursday.  According to Patrol Sergeant Kenneth J. Smith, interviews of witnesses and vehicle occupants led to a determination by police that Dale Malmstrom, 65 of Rockland, was driving with another adult and two minors within 2007 Silver Jeep Grand Cherokee at 12:30 p.m. The occupants were heading north along Main Street (Route 73) when the medical emergency caused Malmstrom to lose control of the vehicle, cross over the center line, rollover, hit a stop sign, a large tree, and a house at 197 Main Street, before coming to rest on its passenger side.

ELLSWORTH Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies took a Bangor man into custody Jan. 21 after he reportedly refused to stop his vehicle, which was operating erratically on Route 3 in Trenton. “The vehicle refused to stop, traveling into Ellsworth and driving head-on into traffic in a one-way section of High Street before accelerating north of 75 miles per hour further down High Street,” Deputy Marcus Downes reported. The pursuit continued down High Street as the vehicle, a white Toyota Tacoma, passed through multiple red lights, Downes said. Finally, the truck stopped at the intersection of Oak Street and Church Street because an Ellsworth Police cruiser blocked the road.
