IT’S SOLELY FOR COVID-19 PATIENTS. CURRENTLY WE HAVE 28 BEDS IN OUR ICU. THEY STAY FULL ALL THE TIME. EVAN: ARROCHA SAID THE HEALTHCARE WORKERS TRY THEIR BEST TO KEEP PATIENTS AND FAMILIES IN TOUCH WHETHER IT’S ON THE PHONE OR VIRTUALLY SINCE VISITORS ARE EXTREMELY LIMITED. ANOTHER THING THAT WE PROVIDE IS IPADS THAT WE CAN TAKE INTO THE ROOM AND LET THE FAMILY SEE AND TALK TO THE PATIENT. EVAN: VISITORS ARE ONLY ALLOWED
COVID-19 is causing ambulance delays and longer ER waits even for those without coronavirus

According to doctor Yadegar, it s not just a matter of room, but it s also the staffing to have nurses, as well as doctors to be able to take care of those patients. It s very difficult to get critical care nurses and doctors. So, it s hard to expand, even if we can expand with the number of beds in the rooms it
Last Updated Friday, December 25, 2020 6:11AM EST A man was transported to a trauma centre with critical injuries after being shot through a door in Brampton on Christmas Eve. Police received a call about the shooting at 5:48 p.m. and responded to the area of Hubbell Road and Rivermont Road. According to police, the man was in a residence when somebody fired a shot through the front door. Peel Regional Paramedic Services said the victim, believed to be in his 30s, was transported to a trauma centre in critical condition. Police later said he was in stable condition. It’s not yet clear whether the man was targeted.
