American Life League proudly supports herd immunity study By April 28, 2021 American Life League is honored to announce that we are providing grant funding to support a research study at Franciscan University of Steubenville that will determine the extent to which the campus has reached herd immunity. The project, led by biology professor Dr. Kyle McKenna, will evaluate immune responses to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus utilizing testing procedures that specifically do not use materials produced in cell lines derived from aborted children. In March, Dr. McKenna and his students, in conjunction with the school’s nursing program, began drawing blood from over 300 students, faculty, and staff on campus. McKenna indicated that immune responses in the student population are particularly interesting because this age group has only recently been eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines. Correspondingly, immune responses in this population are primarily through natural exposure to coronavirus

Molnar WINTERSVILLE A Bloomingdale man charged with retaliation after he allegedly threatened the life of a common pleas court judge waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday, sending his case directly to the May term of the Jefferson County grand jury. Wintersville County Court Judge Michael Bednar ordered John Molnar Sr. released on his own recognizance, but warned him he’ll be back behind bars if he goes near the Jefferson County Courthouse, Common Pleas Judge Joseph Bruzzeze Jr., Sportsman’s Trading Post or its employees. He’s also confined to his home and will have to wear an electronic monitor.

Jefferson County sheriff Stolen: A man was spotted removing items from a residence on state Route 646, Richmond, Thursday. The homeowner said the individual, who she believes to be her ex-boyfriend, removed a window air conditioner to gain entry to the residence, removing a television, weed trimmer, shovels, propane grill, a butcher-block style countertop from a kitchen island, a PlayStation 4 Call of Duty edition and several games, a jewelry box containing rings and other items, including diamond earrings. A .38 caliber revolver registered to the homeowner and two dogs also were stolen, deputies said. Trouble on social media: Deputies were notified of teenage girls trading vulgar insults and threatening each other on Snapchat, Tuesday.
