SAN FRANCISCO - Sunday morning marks 115 years since the Bay Area experience the worst natural distaster in California history. At 5:12 a.m. on April 18th, The Great Earthquake of 1906, and the fires it sparked, destroyed about 80% of the city. Residents woke up to tens of thousands of buildings collapsed and fires raging for days; though a death toll isn’t known, city supervisors agreed to officially document it at at least 3,000 people killed. About 250,000 people were left homeless.
