Bomb Threat Cleared at Lafayette Middle School
Students are back in class after a bomb threat written on a bathroom wall caused students to be evacuated from Lafayette Middle School.
Lafayette Police Cpl. Bridgette Dugas confirmed the news to KPEL and says officers are on the scene after clearing the area around 12:30 p.m.

Lafayette Police are investigating three separate weekend shootings, including one that left a man dead.
Police were called at about 2 p.m. Sunday to shots fired in the 100 block of Ambroise Street, which is near North Pierce Street. When they arrived, officers found 19-year-old Nakia Solomon, who had been shot, department spokesperson Sr. Cpl. Bridgette Dugas said in a release.
The Breaux Bridge man was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Officers also were called at about 1 p.m. Sunday at the 100 block of Hebert Road, which is near Dulles Drive in west Lafayette. Officers were told a man had been shot by an unknown person.
