Firestone Industrial Products’ expansion in Kentucky will allow the company to better serve the emerging electric vehicle market.
Firestone Industrial Products Co. LLC is investing $50 million to expand the company’s automotive air springs manufacturing plant by 68,000 square feet and create 250 full-time jobs in Williamsburg.
The expansion to the company’s existing 375,000-square-foot plant is being spurred by growing customer demand and new business, including an increased focus on electric vehicle parts. Work on the expansion is expected to be complete in December, 2022.

One Oreo Thin is roughly the size of the tread depth of the Firestone race tires that will be used at Sunday s 105th running of the Indianapolis 500.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 27, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) today announced it is expanding the company s Williamsburg, Kentucky, air springs manufacturing plant. The $51 million investment in the Firestone Industrial Products (FSIP) plant will help meet market demand in the automotive vehicle market with a focus on the electric vehicle (EV) sector. The expansion of the facility is expected to break ground the second quarter of this year and wrap up by the end of 2022.
