A member of the Jersey Militia reenactment group fired a musket Thursday at French fishing boats.
The boats were blockading the main port of the overseas British island territory in a dispute over post-Brexit fishing red tape.
A video published by ITV News shows the man loading his antique firearm before firing it towards the harbor, as smoke from the gun’s barrel billows around him.
Between 60-70 French fishing boats blocked access to the island’s main port, St. Saint Helier, Thursday morning as part of a demonstration against the U.K.’s post-Brexit fishing rules, local Jersey Evening Post reported.

The Queen usually celebrates her birthday twice. Her biggest celebration takes place at the Trooping the Colour ceremony at Horse Guards Parade. The military parade has marked the official birthday of the sovereign for more than 270 years. Of course, the parade was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has put a halt on traditional practices held on the queen s latent day. The annual summertime Trooping the Colour festivities usually held in June, with the royal family gathered on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as the highlight, had to be cancelled for the second year in a row.
