London, May 1 : Another 2,381 people in Britain have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 4,416,623, according to official figures released on Friday.
The country also reported another 15 coronavirus-related deaths. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Britain now stands at 127,517. These figures only include the deaths of people who died within 28 days of their first positive test, Xinhua reported.
More than 34.2 million people have been given the first jab of a coronavirus vaccine, according to the latest official figures.

LONDON, April 28 (Xinhua) A single dose of a COVID-19 vaccine can cut transmission of coronavirus by up to half, a Public Health England (PHE) study showed Wednesday.
Those who were infected at least three weeks later were between 38 percent and 49 percent less likely to pass the virus on to people living in the same household, compared with those who had not been vaccinated, according to the study.
People included in the research were those who have had a single dose of either the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccines, the first two authorized for use in Britain.

The 50-year-old rheumatology nurse is slowly finding her feet again after being struck down with COVID-19 last fall, seemingly recovering and then relapsing with severe fatigue and “brain fog” four months later.
“The symptoms were almost as bad as at the beginning,” Ravera said.
Close to despair, she found a clinic that specializes in treating people with what have been called post-COVID-19, or long-term COVID-19, symptoms.
Located in Heiligendamm, a north German seaside spa popular since the late 18th century, the clinic specializes in helping people with lung diseases such as asthma, chronic bronchitis and cancer.
