Twitter has removed a tweet by Iran s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei suggesting coronavirus vaccines made in the United States and Britain are untrustworthy , saying the post violated its rules. Importing vaccines made in the US or the UK is prohibited. They re completely untrustworthy. It s not unlikely they would want to contaminate other nations, said a tweet posted Friday on Khamenei s English-language Twitter account.
Published January 11, 2021 1:33am Iloilo City has secured 600,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Britain s Oxford University in partnership with multinational firm AstraZeneca, Mayor Jerry Treñas said. In posts on social media on Sunday, Treñas said that he signed a multilateral agreement on behalf of the city for the purchase. The order will be enough for 300,000 people as the vaccine is administered in two doses or 60% of the city s population, he said. The purchase, Treñas added, was made possible because of the support from our national government thru Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez and [Health Secretary Francisco] Duque.
