The driver, Meriden resident Victor Rombo Ayala, 30, was charged with possessing a weapon in a motor vehicle, second-degree larceny and illegal possession of narcotics. The two others, Wesleye Hoskie, 32, of Waterbury, and Franklyn Steeves, 26, of Meriden, were both charged with second-degree larceny, police said.  According Lt. Keith Egan, an officer recognized the vehicle as matching the description of a vehicle reported stolen in Meriden. The description was provided by the Southington Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force Unit, which was formed in February in response to a rash of car thefts.

Keith Egan said in a release. Staff told police a man, later identified as Bazilio, became argumentative after his debit card was declined and exposed the blade of a folding knife. After leaving, staff locked the doors. Bazilio began banging on the doors and staff called police.
