Irvine marine life rescuer finishes virtual cycle for equipment funds

AN IRVINE woman has now completed virtual cycling challenge to raise funds and support for a marine wildlife rescue charity. Helene Gray completed a virtual Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle, raising £595 for the British Divers Marine Life Rescue [BDMLR] charity’s Ayrshire team. The Paterson Crescent resident, who started her epic cycle in February, completed the challenge raise funds to help the team get vital equipment to help their efforts across Ayrshire and Clyde area. She said: “It went really well, I hadn’t set a specific time limit but had hoped to do it within 50 to 100 days and managed 53, so quite happy with that.
