Jordans Cereals encourages Brits to protect their patch of nature The Bedfordshire-based manufacturer of breakfast cereals and cereal bars has teamed up with The Wildlife Trust to launch the Grow Wild initiative to encourage people to nurture wildlife on their doorstep.
According to Jordans, a recent survey found a growing disconnect between people and wildlife – despite a large slice of the population claiming they feel closer to nature following a year of lockdown. Almost 44% of the British public admitted they have never seen a hedgehog in the wild; 59% said they have never seen an owl in the wild; 70% a hare; and 73% a badger.

Loss of Wetlands Threatens Migratory Waterbirds
Migratory waterbirds stand to feel the effects of climate change at their breeding areas in the high arctic and in Africa, according to a new study.
The research team came to this conclusion after modeling climatic and hydrological conditions under current and future climate scenarios (in 2050) and comparing the impact on the distribution of 197 of the 255 waterbird species listed under the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA).
