Smart became interim chair this month
The Pensions Regulator (TPR) interim chair Sarah Smart has tried to reassure MPs that no conflict of interest will arise from her husband’s role at the British Airways pension schemes.
GovNet has announced James Tucker as its new CEO.
Tucker takes the reins from Jo Walsh, who founded the business in 1997 and has overseen its transformation from magazine publisher to one of the UK’s largest provider of specialist events and training courses for the public sector.
For the last two years Tucker has been chief operating officer, leading a comprehensive change programme across the business, which has enabled the company to overhaul its processes and grow its virtual portfolio of events during the pandemic. Tucker’s modernisation has enhanced the operational efficiency of its events, its client communication channels and the content it delivers to its audiences. As part of this project, Tucker has also focused on enhancing the company culture and what is described as a k0re flexible and supportive environment for employees during this challenging period.
