Meanwhile, Belgium halted all travel from Britain to Belgium for at least 24 hours from midnight local time on Sunday. Advertisement Germany, France, and Austria are also thought to be planning to ban flights from the U.K. due to the newly identified strain of the coronavirus. Spain said it would “act in defense of the interests and rights of Spanish citizens” if the European Council failed to offer a “joint, co-ordinated response” to the outbreak of the new strain.
