Shtayyeh discusses reconstruction of Gaza with British Foreign Secretary
RAMALLAH, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 (WAFA) - Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh discussed with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab during a meeting in Ramallah, the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and the significant importance in preventing a recurrence of the Israeli aggression on the Strip through a serious political path.
He stressed that the reconstruction of the devastated Gaza Strip must take place in tandem with preventing Israel from carrying out another aggression on the Strip and filling the political vacuum through a serious and real track, under multiple international sponsorships, that ends the occupation and leads to the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.

Malki briefed his British counterpart on the ongoing Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, its continued violations, and brutal suppression of the defenseless Palestinian civilians.

During a meeting at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, President Abbas brought the British Foreign Secretary up to date on the political situation in the Palestinian territories, underline the importance of immediately halting the Israeli settler extremists’ attacks, backed by Israeli forces, in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.
