MP Liz Truss says Uighur issue can t be ignored in Beijing trade talks

South West Norfolk MP and International Trade Secretary Liz Truss, is hoping to clinch a £80bn a year trade deal with China.
Ms Truss, who has sewn up several ambitious deals since Brexit, was asked over a webinar this week about a prospective deal with Beijing.
This week, her department announced a new £200m trade deal with Cameroon.

Signing the deal, International trade minister Ranil Jayawardena said: âTodayâs deal secures opportunities for both British and Cameroonian businesses - and will help support jobs .

The United States and United Kingdom are in near total alignment in major foreign policy areas, a British lawmaker with the country s ruling party has said, as analysts in Washington predict a coordinated effort to tackle some of the most pressing challenges posed by China.
Echoing recent sentiments expressed on Capitol Hill, Tom Tugendhat, who chairs the British Parliament s Foreign Affairs Committee, said there had been an awakening in the U.K. to the many irreconcilable practices of the Chinese government.

A report published by the British Foreign Policy Group, an independent think tank, has found that a majority of people in the United Kingdom are unhappy at how Brexit turned out. The research found that respondents are still bitterly divided about the future direction of the country with 27 percent seeking a closer relationship with Europe with a view to rejoining the EU, 22 percent wanting a closer relationship but remaining outside the EU and 12 percent stating that they want to move further away from Europe.
