In acknowledgement of sexual assault awareness month, WVU’s Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion held a series of events to raise awareness about sexual assault on campus.

Inclusive Pedagogy Academy panel discussion set for May 13 Published: April 28, 2021 Author: Staff reports OHIO faculty and staff are invited to attend the panel discussion, “ The Inclusive Pedagogy Academy is a collaborative offering of the Office of Instructional Innovation’s Center for Teaching and Learning and the Division of Diversity and Inclusion, with the support of two faculty co-chairs. Inclusive pedagogy honors and celebrates difference within the classroom by engaging faculty in various approaches to teaching and student engagement. Traditional educational practices do not always support students in reaching their full potential. Inclusive pedagogy challenges faculty to think and teach differently.

Olivia Dowler is reaching out to survivors to offer resources and understanding.  Earlier this month, WellWVU, in collaboration with the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, placed flags in Woodburn Circle for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, representing that 1-in-4 women and 1-in-16 men are sexually assaulted during their time in college. For many students, this display seemed insincere. Shortly after the University posted about the flags on Instagram, the comment section flooded with criticism from current and former students.

BU sociology department sponsors Anti-Racist Town Hall Gabby Banaag/Contributing Photographer The Asian Student Union (ASU) and the Binghamton Pan Asian Leaders Council (BPALC) were among the co-sponsors for the sociology department’s Anti-Racist Town Hall that was held on April 18. Co-sponsors include BSU, LASU, ASU, BPALC and GSEU, where racism at BU was discussed April 22, 2021 In an effort to address the recent racist incidents that have occurred on campus, Binghamton University’s sociology department sponsored an antiracist town hall on April 18. The event, which saw over 300 attendees over Zoom, was held in light of an incident that occurred during the first discussion class in Sociology 100: Social Change: Intro to Sociology.
