NC Senator Says Trump Bears Responsibility For DC Violence
(Washington, DC) A North Carolina senator has strong words for President Trump over yesterday s violent riots at the nation s Capitol. Republican Richard Burr said Wednesday night that Trump bears responsibility for the events. He also criticized the president for fueling the fires by spreading what he called unfounded conspiracy theories.
Governor Extends Curfew Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases
(Raleigh, NC) The curfew is being extended due to COVID-19 trends in North Carolina. Governor Roy Cooper announced yesterday the 10 p.m. curfew will now last through January 29th. The state s top health official, Dr, Mandy Cohen, is urging people to stay at home with the exception of essential activities. The total of deaths due to COVID-19 in North Carolina rose over seven-thousand on Wednesday.

in 830 total cases, 8, 551 new cases reported 3339 people in the hospital and, sadly, 6729 who have died. Our prayers are with those who lost loved ones this year and who are fighting this cruel disease. Although overall testing was down is expected during the Christmas holidays, we saw the highest number of people in the hospital and record high percent positives, keeping people from getting sick and having to check into hospitals. Raleigh, N.C. In late April, WRAL News filed an public records request with the state unemployment office, seeking a trove of emails to and from Lockhart Taylor, who was then head of the Division of Employment Security.
The idea was to gauge what sort of heads-up Taylor got before Gov. Roy Cooper ordered businesses closed due to the coronavirus pandemic and to read conversations top officials had as new unemployment claims spiked and overwhelmed the state s system.
The Cooper administration has not provided any of those records, despite repeated reminders over six months.
