Housebuilder McCarthy and Stone have called the 62 retirement apartments on South Street Kingfisher Court. The development has been named after the wildlife found in Taunton, the River Tone, and the surrounding areas. We wanted to choose a name for our new Taunton development that was not only meaningful, but would also resonate with local people and future McCarthy Stone homeowners, said Nicki Beswarick, Divisional Marketing Manager for McCarthy Stone Southern. We took inspiration from Taunton’s vast collection of wildlife, which can be found within parks, close to the canals and rivers and across the town.” The company submit a planning application in 2018 for the development, which was approved in March 2019.
