Since 2012, when Dallas Seavey became the youngest winner of the Iditarod sled dog race, he’s been bombarded by “if” he could get five titles, the most ever by a musher.
“I think it was probably 10 minutes after I won that first race that somebody mentioned five,” he said before this year’s race. “At that point, I said I got to worry about No. 2 first. I may be home-schooled, but I know that much, two comes after one.”
Now 34 and possibly the sport’s greatest champion, Seavey on Monday collected his fifth Iditarod title, winning the pandemic-shortened race by more than three hours over second-place musher Aaron Burmeister.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - On Wednesday, Verbal Commits reported on Twitter that University of Evansville sophomore Samari Curtis has entered the transfer portal.
His departure marks the second time in his collegiate career that he’s left a program, initially transferring to UE from Nebraska. Curtis appeared in just eight games as a freshman for the Huskers.
The 2019 Ohio Mr. Basketball appeared in 17 games for the Purple Aces during the 2020-21 regular season.
