DB seeks information from Union Govt on setting up of CAT Bench at Srinagar

JAMMU, Feb 2: Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Rajnesh Oswal has sought information from the Union Government regarding establishment of Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) at Srinagar. Moreover, stress has been laid on providing befitting infrastructure to the Tribunal’s Bench at Jammu.
The direction in this regard has been issued in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) titled Aditya Sharma and Another Versus Union of India and Others.

On January 26, 1950, after 165 days of deliberation, 284 members of the Constituent Assembly of India unanimously adopted the Constitution. The original, calligraphed copies of the document were sent to the artist Nandalal Bose and his students at Santiniketan, who decorated each of the 22 parts with elaborate art. When placed in sequence, the art reveals a linear, rather banal, narrative of the Indian subcontinent from the Indus Valley civilisation to the birth of the Republic.

Amaravati: In a setback to the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy administration, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday gave the green signal for the conduct of elections to gram panchayats in four phases from February 5. The Division Bench of the High Court, headed by Chief Justice Arup Kumar Goswami, struck down the order of a single judge delivered on January 11 suspending the election schedule announced by State Election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar.
