Alleged Raynham Batterer Held Without Bail
A 59-year-old Raynham man accused of violently assaulting his girlfriend was found dangerous by a Taunton District Court judge and ordered held without bail for up to 120 days while the case proceeds towards trial, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.

On December 10, Raynham Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. On arrival, officers observed a large amount of blood smeared on a hallway wall. The alleged victim appeared to have multiple injuries to her face, and her shirt was covered in blood. There was a laceration on the right inside of her lip, and several scratches and red marks on her neck. She was shaking and appeared highly distraught, a spokesman for the DA s office said in a media release.
Bristol DA Seeks Help Solving Cold Seekonk Murder Case
More than four decades ago, a Rhode Island woman working as a hotel clerk was found beaten and stabbed to death at the Susse Chalet on Rt. 6 in Seekonk. Now, the Bristol County District Attorney s Office is seeking the public s help in solving the cold case.
On the morning of August 20, 1979, Margaret Pizio, a 35-year-old woman from the Riverside section of East Providence, was found murdered at the hotel. The medical examiner at the time found that the manner of death was homicide. Pizio was the mother of four children, the oldest of whom was 13 at the time of her death.

FALL RIVER The driver involved in a crash that killed a New Bedford woman and seriously injured her son was sentenced to serve 14 to 16 years in state prison.
Jennaya Elsa Bennett-Werra, 23, who at the time of the incident was named James Bennett-Werra pleaded guilty to numerous charges in Fall River Superior Court last week.
According to a news release from Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, the 23-year-old South Easton woman pleaded guilty to indictments charging her with manslaughter, reckless motor vehicle homicide, leaving the scene-death resulting, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon-causing serious bodily injury, leaving the scene of personal injury and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Arrest Made in Connection to November Taunton Homicide
A 26-year-old Taunton man was arrested early this morning on a charge of murder connected to the November 3 slaying of Jean Carlos Quinones-Lopez, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.
Kali Hollingsworth was arrested around 5:15 a.m. today outside his mother s School Street home. The arrest was made without incident by investigators from the Taunton Police Department Detective Division and members of District Attorney Quinn s Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit.
The defendant will be arraigned today in Taunton District Court on a charge of murder.
Taunton Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney s office and Homicide Unit prosecutors continue to actively investigate the November 3 homicide.
South Easton Woman Sentenced in Fatal New Bedford Crash
A 23-year-old South Easton woman, who in March 2019 caused a fatal car crash in New Bedford and then fled the scene, was sentenced on Friday to serve 14 to 16 years in state prison, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.
