Carl Drew, a known pimp operating in the city, was portrayed as the leader of a Satanic cult that was controlling all the young women on the streets, and Drew was convicted of the murder of one of women and sentenced to life in prison without parole. 3 Indicted in Unsolved New Bedford Murder

Updated on May 8, 2021 at 8:29 am NBC Universal, Inc. Three people have been indicted on murder-related charges in the 2019 shooting death of a teen in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Kevin Edwards, 22, of Fall River, and Mauricio Pineda, 25, of New Bedford, are both facing murder and firearm related charges. Ashlee Cambra, 23, of Fall River has been indicted on a single count of accessory to murder after the fact. According to the Bristol County District Attorney s Office, Edwards, Pineda and Cambra were involved in a double shooting on the evening of October 19, 2019, that occurred at the corner Tallman Street and Ashley Boulevard. 

New Bedford City Councilor Crash Under Investigation by D A

The incident in which New Bedford Ward 3 City Councilor Hugh Dunn struck two other vehicles in a downtown crash last weekend is now under investigation by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. Gregg Miliote, spokesperson for District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, confirmed to WBSM News that the D.A.’s Office has joined in the investigation. “After speaking with the New Bedford Police and being provided with investigative materials, we have decided to assign a Massachusetts State Trooper to work with New Bedford Police to further investigate this case,” Miliote said. Get our free mobile app Dunn was involved in a crash just after 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, in which he struck two parked vehicles and a curb with his 2015 Hyundai Genesis. Dunn moved his vehicle from the spot of the crash to the other side of the parking lot in which it occurred, leading witnesses to call into police that it was a hit-and-run incident.
