Police name suspects after massive rave in Yate

Six people will appear in court accused of involvement in an illegal Yate rave.
Around 700 people attended a party lasting almost 24 hours last Halloween (October 31) at a disused warehouse in Beeches Industrial Estate.
Avon and Somerset police have now revealed the names of six people due to appear at Bristol Magistrates Court:
Jerin Nixon, 23, from Newent in Gloucestershire, faces charges of assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage and failure to leave the land when requested
George Parsons, 18, from Ugborough in Devon, faces one charge of failure to leave the land when requested
Man caught vandalising cars for fun pulls down trousers in police station, defecates on floor and goes to sleep
He swore at police officers when they caught him with a chisel in hand

Four deny criminal damage following toppling of Colston statue

BRISTOL: Four people have denied committing criminal damage in relation to the toppling of a statue of slave trader Edward Colston in Bristol.
Rhian Graham, 29, Milo Ponsford, 25, Jake Skuse, 36, and Sage Willoughby, 21, appeared before Bristol Magistrates’ Court for their first hearing on Monday morning.The bronze memorial to the 17th century slave merchant was pulled down during a Black Lives Matter protest on June 7 last year, before being dumped in Bristol Harbour. It was later recovered from the water by Bristol City Council.
Charges allege that the four defendants “with each other and others unknown without lawful excuse” damaged property, namely the Edward Colston statue and plinth of a value unknown, belonging to the council.
