Health organizations around Bristol Bay started to roll out the vaccine at the end of last year; in most communities, you can now get the vaccine if you are 18 years old or older.

Around 1,800 people in Bristol Bay have received both doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. That s nearly a quarter of the region s population; according to the state Department of Labor estimates for 2020, about 7,200 people live in Bristol Bay.
As of Monday, the Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation has administered the first dose of the vaccine to 1,795 people; 1,159 people have received the second dose.

Students and staff at the Bristol Bay Borough school have weathered a rough year.
The district planned for a renovation of the school building to finish months ago. The project derailed this summer when construction crews discovered asbestos in the building.

“That kind of delayed our project on the interior, explained Superintendent Bill Hill. We moved to the exterior of the school and found a significant amount of dry rot. And that delayed the exterior renovation as well. Basically derailed the project by about three months, as an estimate.”

Southcentral Foundation: 337 Moderna vaccine doses overall; 58 people have received both doses of the vaccine. Due to the increase in cases statewide, certain areas of data entry are lagging far behind real-time and we are not able to update cases with the date they are released from isolation (recovered). BBAHC says that it reports cases it has identified, while the state’s dashboard reports cases from a wide range of sources.
