Koula Langanis, the mother of insta-famous barber Michael Langanis, was arrested as a result of conversations with her son, intercepted by police in an operation targeting drug trafficking. Mrs Langanis pleaded guilty in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday to a charge of voting at an election more than once and voting in the name of son Michael Anthony Langanis, between October 1 and November 1, last year.

Subscriber only A Brisbane man has been accused of forcing women to work as prostitutes, with police alleging they were branded with tattoos, drugged and not paid. Matthew James Markcrow, 35, is facing charges of conducting a business involving servitude, conducting a business of unlawful prostitution and making recordings in breach of privacy. The alleged sexual slavery and prostitution only came to light due to a tip off from a member of the community, police say.

Two teenage girls were allegedly gang raped by ten men on a park bench after they were drugged and threatened with broken glass and bottles.
Four men aged between 19 and 22 have now been charged with 40 offences each over the sickening alleged attack in Brisbane’s south on December 28.
Police allege two 15-year-old girls met up with two of the men at Woodridge train station to drink alcohol and smoke cannabis.
The girls were allegedly driven to Karawatha quarry where two cars full of eight other men mainly of African appearance were waiting.
Detectives charge a 28-year-old man with murder a day after officers discovered the body of 39-year-old Stephen Mowchanuk at a house in the Brisbane suburb of Bracken Ridge.
