Police update: Police motorcyclist rammed, Rochedale
Detectives from Upper Mt Gravatt CIB have today charged a man after a road policing officer was allegedly knocked off his motorbike when he attempted to assist a motorist on the Gateway Motorway on May 9.
It will be alleged at around 1am the officer was conducting speed checks at Rochedale when a silver Holden Commodore stopped a short distance away, appearing to have engine problems.
The officer conducted a u-turn and attempted to stop in front of the Commodore when the vehicle was allegedly driven at the officer, clipping the bike and throwing him off. The car then reversed and rammed the police motorcycle before speeding off.

A young university student who gave a one-star review of a high-profile criminal law firm despite never having been a client has been sued for $300,000.
Queensland-based firm Nyst Legal sued Jaimyn Mayer, 23, along with search engine giant Google over the review - which was blank apart from the one-star rating.
The law firm, run by Chris Nyst and his son Brendan, launched a defamation action in the Brisbane District Court in August 2020 shortly after the review was posted.
Mr Mayer admitted he had never had dealings with Nyst Lawyers but left the Google review after someone the firm did represent threatened to sue a female friend.
