BREAKING: Man seriously hurt in skydiving accident

It is understood the man was involved in a landing mishap about 11.15am. A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed het was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition. He reportedly sustained serious injuries to his legs. A representative for Skydive Ramblers, based at Toogoolawah, confirmed the patient was a customer. BREAKING: Motorcyclist conscious at highway crash scene

Premium Content Subscriber only A MOTORCYCLIST has been seriously injured in a motorbike crash on a busy highway on Monday morning. The 33-year-old man is believed to have been travelling south through Fernvale when he was involved in a single-motorcycle crash. Paramedics rushed to the Brisbane Valley highway to assess the patient. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the patient suffered chest, leg and arm injuries. A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the man was conscious when emergency services arrived on scene. $12m works aimed at highway crash hotspot

Premium Content Subscriber only IPSWICH West MP Jim Madden says he is “delighted” with $12 million of state government funding which will go towards improving safety at a crash hotspot on the Brisbane Valley Highway. The Department of Transport and Main Roads is currently conducting design work for a 14 km stretch of the highway between Fernvale and Blacksoil. The department says the $14.4 million works will “reduce the rate and severity of crashes” and improve traffic flow with design work expected to be finished by the end of the year. Design work is now underway to improve safety along a 14 km stretch of the Brisbane Valley Highway. The state government has committed $14.4 million to the project.
