On 12/27/20, at approximately 5:37 PM, deputies with the Camarillo Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred in the area of Lomita Street and N. Glenn Drive in the City of Camarillo. Deputies located two adult males who had been shot by unknown suspect(s). One victim was shot several times while seated in his car. The other victim was shot as he tried to get out of the car to flee the assault. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where they were treated for their injuries. The victims have since been released from the hospital.

On January 7, 2021, detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team concluded a narcotics sales investigation involving Damian Castaneda from Oxnard, who was involved in the sales of narcotics to residents of Ventura County.
During the month of December 2020, detectives received information indicating Castaneda was involved in the sales of narcotics in the City of Oxnard. Detectives began an investigation and were able to gather evidence confirming Castaneda’s involvement in narcotics sales. Detectives identified a residence in the 5400 Block of Cypress Road, which Castaneda was using to store his illegal narcotics. Detectives worked with the Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit, who also received information regarding Castaneda’s involvement in the sales of illegally possessed prescription medication.
