Sawasdee krub! We’re in Bangkok, Thailand, where Nissan has unveiled the all-new Nissan NP300 Navara. The 12th-gen Nissan pickup truck boasts better fuel economy, improved acceleration and a more rigid and durable frame.
The model also features a lower roof, higher ground clearance and a larger load area. Narrow- and wide-bodies, king- and double-cabs as well as 2WD and 4WD versions are available.
Nissan says the focus is on a “sportier and more emotional expression” – there’s a high belt line and blacked-out B-pillars, plus sculpted front wings and door sections with concave-convex surfaces. Two new colours are available – Savannah Yellow and The Earth Bronze.

Come 2021, Nissan will launch its new Navara locally. In addition, the bakkie will be built in South Africa at Nissan s plant in Rosslyn, Pretoria. Not only will it be built in SA, but also in Ghana in partnership with long-time Nissan distributor Japan Motors.
According to Kabelo Rabotho, director for Nissan SA and Sub-Sahara Africa: For the first time in history, the full model line-up of the next generation Navara will be produced on home soil, made in Africa for Africans. I am immensely proud that we have overcome adversity and the effects of Covid-19 to reach this milestone and bring this amazing pickup to Africa.
