Theft: A Hinesville man reported Jan. 25 his laptop was stolen from his mother’s vehicle “within the week’s timeframe,” and “stated the vehicle was locked during the theft and advised the subject who stole his laptop possessed copies of his key fob.”

Shooting in Pembroke sends one man to hospital Incident under investigation Pembroke police are investigating a shooting Wednesday afternoon on W.E. Smith Road that sent one man to the hospital. Pembroke Public Safety Director Bill Collins said the shooting occurred around 1:20 p.m. and the case is under investigation. The man was transported by Bryan County Emergency Services ambulance to Memorial Hospital. Additional details were not immediately available.

(WTOC) - Just weeks after the Humane Society for Greater Savannah celebrated getting all the dogs in the shelter adopted, they received 16 more. And one of the new pups took a trip to fire departments in Pooler, Richmond Hill, and Savannah on Monday to spread a little holiday cheer and hopefully get adopted. Dog breeds like 3 and a half year old Lainey are hard to find these days. Montana Tohm with the Humane Society for Greater Savannah took a trip to several different fire departments with Lainey to not only spread a little holiday cheer and thank first responders for all they do, but to also get one of the departments to hopefully adopt her.

BCSO reports: Woman tries to shoplift blow-up Santa Shoplifting: The manager of the Dollar General on Highway 280 in Ellabell reported Dec. 4 a woman tried to leave the store with an inflatable Santa yard decoration stuffed in her purse. A deputy showed up to find the woman had been confronted by the assistant manager. “I asked the female what her name was and what happened,” the deputy wrote, noting she told him her name and “instantly admitted to the theft. (She) stated that it was a stupid mistake and she asked the manager to please just let her pay for the item, but the manager refused.”
