BCSO reports: Suspicious water in man’s yard From Bryan County Sheriff ’s Office reports:   Matter of record: Deputies were sent to a Richmond Hill address around 11:15 a.m. Jan. 6 “in reference to a suspicious act.” The act? “The complainant wanted to see if deputies might know why there was a large amount of water in his yard because it had been there for a while and he was concerned it was not draining off.” The deputy “tried to explain that the ground was extremely wet and that it just may not be able to soak in anymore at this time. He also said there was a pond and canal behind his property and they may have overflowed onto his property.”

Several newly elected, re-elected or appointed law enforcement officers took their oath of office prior to the New Year. Newly elected Liberty County Sheriff, William Bowman was sworn in the morning of Dec. 30, in front of the Liberty County Justice Center in Hinesville before a crowd of well-wishers. Bowman, retired military and former Georgia State Patrol officer ran for the position against incumbent Sheriff Steve Sikes in the June 2020, General Election.  Both men ran in this year’s primary race on the democratic ticket.  

Sobriety checkpoint, activity planned across Oklahoma for New Year s Eve

Dec 30, 2020 Dec 30, 2020 The Oklahoma Highway Patrol ENDUI team will partner with law enforcement from across Oklahoma to make sure everyone has a safe New Year s Eve holiday. This effort is part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization. Similar efforts will take place across the United States this holiday weekend. The goal is to make Oklahoma as safe as possible by getting impaired drivers off the roads. Additional deputies, troopers, and officers will be on duty across the state looking for impaired drivers. During the previous NYE holiday period, there were 148 crashes in Oklahoma. Two of those crashes were fatalities resulting in the deaths of two people. Of those 148 crashes, at least 24 of them were alcohol and-or drug-related. That is more than 16 percent of NYE crashes that involved a potentially impaired driver.

RHPD reports: Man loses his mind at truck stop From Richmond Hill Police Department reports:   Disorderly conduct: A man with a Piercefield address was the subject of a 5 a.m., Dec. 9, 911 call from the T/A truck stop. There, police found him in the bathroom area “laying on the ground in the middle of the hallway,” with one of his legs “contorted inside his pants in such a manner that his foot was near his lower back.”
