OTTAWA - It s been a tough year for the Ottawa Senators newest prospect, Tyler Boucher.
First he came down with COVID-19. Then there was the sprain to his MCL and a tear in his meniscus, limiting how much hockey he could play.
The Sens still saw something special in the six-foot-one, 205-pound right-winger, though, and opted to pick him 10th overall in the NHL entry draft on Friday.
Playing hockey in Canada is something Boucher said he s looking forward to.

Canadiens take player 31st who asked not to be drafted
SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) The Montreal Canadiens stunned the rest of the NHL on Friday night by taking Logan Mailloux with the second-to-last pick in the first round of the draft.
Mailloux, who was criminally convicted in Sweden last year for sharing an explicit photo of a woman performing a sex act without her consent, asked teams not to select him. A player cannot remove himself from the draft.
Mailloux said in a social media statement this week, “I don’t feel I have demonstrated strong enough maturity or character” to be drafted this year. Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin said the 18-year-old Mailloux was eligible to be taken and defended the selection afterward.
