Maybe it s the taxes, maybe it s the weather or maybe it s just because there seems to be more opportunity and better living elsewhere. But the data isn t good for the Empire State. In newly released information about what states people are leaving the most, more people are escaping from New York than anywhere else.

It s not exactly clear how many of these people were from the Capital region, but according to a report from News 10 ABC, between July 2019 and July 2020, more people have left the state of New York than any other state in the country. Illinois and Hawaii were number 2 and 3 on the list respectively.
