He visited the oxygen plant and checked the stock availability of basic drugs at the pharmacy in the Government Hospital. According to doctors, close to 190 patients were admitted in the Theni Government Medical College Hospital while 106 patients were in other Government Hospitals in the district. Around 80 patients were in treatment at private hospitals and 629 persons with mild symptoms, but tested positive for COVID-19 virus were in different COVID care centres. There were 4,178 people in home quarantine across the district.

Four days ago, a 71-year-old man identified as Ayyavoo of Batlagundu in Dindigul district had fainted near the bus stop. Immediately, the police there had rushed him to the GH, where the doctors referred him to be treated at Theni Government Medical College Hospital. After two days of treatment, the patient had died. Since the admission was categorised as medico-legal case, the post-mortem had to be conducted for which the relatives consent was mandatory.

Police said that Velladurai was a farmer. He was married to Valli (35). The couple have two children aged 15 and 13 years. It is said that Valli was working in a private textile mill. On Tuesday night, she had left home for work and Velladurai had reportedly dropped her at the bus stop, where she had gone by the transport arranged by the mills. When Valli came home from work in the morning, she was informed that Velladurai never came home last night. Along with her neighbours and relatives, when they were on the lookout for him, the Rajadhani police identified a body near Salikuda Odai, located between Balacombai and Rayavelur villages.
