Greg Scott seeks re-election as Norristown district court judge

NORRISTOWN — Born and raised in Norristown, incumbent District Court Judge Gregory Scott says he’s been honored to serve his community and he wants to continue “to advocate for equity within our justice system” with a second term. “I am proud of my work in and out of the courtroom. While we have accomplished a lot, there is more to do and I look forward to finishing my work as it relates to the Montgomery County Pre-Trial Services program and ensuring that we are not holding individuals in confinement unnecessarily,” Scott, 34, said recently as he announced his re-election bid during the May 18 primary election for district court judge in Montgomery County’s Magisterial District Court 38-2-09, which encompasses parts of Norristown Borough.

Dr. Mitchell is currently a third-year Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) fellow at the University of Virginia. She received her bachelor’s degree from Fisk University in 2004, where she majored in biology pre-medicine. After completing her undergraduate degree, she obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University in 2006. As a clinical dietitian for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, she utilized her expertise in co-managing patients with renal disease, diabetes, and hypertension for two years. She then went on to complete medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013. Her desire to serve a medically underserved and disparate population led her to complete an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Howard University Hospital in 2018. UNC Lenoir Health Care s bariatric surgery center accredited

Jim Ware Free Press Correspondent The recent accreditation of UNC Lenoir Health Care’s bariatric surgery center as a comprehensive center is a point of pride not only for the hospital, but for bariatric surgeons Dr. Charles Moore and Dr. Joel Rose. The designation is the highest level of accreditation offered by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Moore said. “It ensures that there’s a level of competence, that there’s a level of quality that this program has now achieved,” he said. “It took a lot of work and it’s an exciting time for us.”
