PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) A three-week-old girl suffered fatal injuries in a crash on the Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia while being held in her mother s lap, police said.
The two were riding with another mother and her four-month-old son when the car collided with a SUV at the Boulevard and Harbison Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police said there were two car seats in the car and that the four-month-old was properly strapped into a car seat in the back, but it s unclear why the other child was not.
The one-month-old girl was pronounced dead at Einstein Medical Center.
Her 19-year-old mother is stable with bumps and bruises, investigators said.

An Uber Eats driver was among those shot on Wednesday afternoon on the 4700 block of Chestnut Street around 4 p.m.
Police say the driver was on a delivery with a male associate when they got caught up in a road rage incident with the driver of a white Dodge Ram pick-up truck. The Dodge driver then got out and fired 11 shots into the victim s car, police said.
Woman critical after being shot in face, back in Germantown, police say

GERMANTOWN - A woman is fighting for her life after being shot multiple times, including once in the face, Sunday night in Germantown.
Officers were called to the 4700 block of Greene Street just before 10 p.m. for reports of a shooting. Police say a 25-year-old suffered gunshot wounds to the face and back.
Officers rushed the woman to Einstein Medical Center where she was taken in for surgery in critical condition, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.
Police have not announced any arrests at this time. Investigators say at least three spent shell casings were found on the porch of her neighbor s house.
