A second batch of COVID-19 vaccines have been donated to Belize and come courtesy the Government and people of India. In the first donation, 1,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine were provided and have gone on to benefit healthcare and other frontline workers. The second donation arrived via a United Airline flight at the Philip Goldson International Airport on Monday, March 8, 2020. The 25,000 doses were received by the Minister of Health and Wellness, the ministry’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ambassador and CEO in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, as well as MOHW technical advisors. Arun Hutchandani, Honorary Consul General of India in Belize, as well as other officials and representatives of the Indian Community were also present for the delivery of the donation.
