+ May 03, 2021 OFFICIALS in Negros Occidental lauded a Negrense cadet who topped the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 2021.
Cadet First Class Janrey Cabanero Artus of San Enrique town in Negros Occidental is the valedictorian of the Mandirigmang Samahan ng Lakas na Sandigan ng Bayan (Masaligan) Class of 2021, the PMA announced on Monday, May 3.
Twenty-five-year-old Artus, who studied Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering as a scholar at the University of the Philippines-Visayas Miag-oa Campus in Iloilo Province, will graduate summa cum laude during the commencement exercises scheduled on May 10.

“The Marina is eternally grateful for his significant contributions to the maritime industry. His zeal and enthusiasm in the workplace will be sorely missed. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family, his bereaved loved ones, and colleagues,” Marina said in a statement.
Before joining Marina, Mendoza, who belonged to the Class of 1993 of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) as part of the Maalab Class of 1993, also served the country during his stint in Philippine Navy and in the United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Force as part of the Philippine contingent.

BAGUIO CITY, May 3(PIA) The Philippine Military Academy top officials presented today the best performing cadets of the PMA “MASALIGAN” Class of 2021 who will graduate next Monday, May 10.
Topping the 164-strong graduating class is Cadet First Class Janrey Artus of San Enrique, Negros Occidental.
Artus whose father is a retired soldier and his mother a retired teacher, will graduate as Summa Cum Laude.
As class valedictorian, he will receive the Presidential Saber. He will also receive the Philippine Navy Saber, the Australian Defence Award, Spanish Armed Forces Award and the Navy Professional Plaque.

I am one with my colleagues in the Senate in condemning, in the strongest possible terms, China s incessant activities in the WPS. We are united in our call for China to uphold the rule of law and to respect our country s sovereignty.
