Bill imposing a 5% gaming tax on POGOs up for Senate debate By HANA BORDEY, GMA News Published May 25, 2021 5:45pm A bill imposing a 5% gaming tax on all Philippine offshore gaming licensees, including gaming operators, gaming agents, and service providers, is now up for Senate plenary debate. Senate Ways and Means Committee chair Pia Cayetano on Tuesday sponsored Senate Bill 2232 which establishes a tax regime on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO). In sponsoring the measure, Cayetano said the bill will address the claim of POGO operators that they are not required to register and pay taxes with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as their income sources are not within the Philippines.
