WHEN the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) unfurls its Season 46 expect its offering to go beyond five-a-side competition as also on tap is the league’s inaugural 3×3 tournament.
Designed to help in the further growth of the sport in the country and the Philippines’ Olympic push in the discipline, the league is currently in the process of finalizing the staging of the event, which is targeted to have three conferences of six legs each. THREE Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) teams made trade moves ahead of the league rookie draft this weekend.
In an announcement on Thursday, the league said the NLEX Road Warriors, Blackwater Bossing and TNT Tropang GIGA figured in a three-way trade involving rookie picks and young veteran players.
The player swaps, which were approved by the PBA trade committee, have NLEX trading its number four pick in the first round of the rookie draft on March 14 to Blackwater in exchange for guard Roi Sumang, forward Don Trollano, center Maurice Shaw and the Bossing’s 2022 second-round draft pick.

THE Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) was rendered limited in what it was able to do last year because of the pandemic and is now seeking to be âbusierâ for its Season 46.
Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday afternoon, PBA officials, led by chairman Ricky Vargas and commissioner Willie Marcial, shared that they have crafted a âpackedâ schedule for its coming season, putting consideration on what they are allowed to do during this time of the pandemic.
