In a public briefing, DOST–Philippine Council for Health Research Development executive director Jaime Montoya said the possibility of making available the vaccines from the two firms was based on their application for emergency use authorization (EUA).
The result of over 50% efficacy of Sinovac ‘s COVID-19 vaccines in a late-stage trial in Brazil meets the minimum requirement of the World Health Organization (WHO), an official of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) said.

In a public briefing, DOST–Philippine Council for Health Research Development executive director Jaime Montoya said the possibility of making available the vaccines from the two firms was based on their application for emergency use authorization (EUA). “If they are going to pursue their application for the EUA in the Philippines, malamang sila ang mauuna na maging available,” Montoya said.
The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) tally hit 465,724 on Thursday after the Department of Health (DOH) announced 1,776 new infections as nine laboratories failed to submit reports on time.
