DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Council on Tuesday approved on third and final reading the ordinance for the implementation of the city’s coronavirus disease (COVID-19) immunization program.
In a statement from the City Information Office on Wednesday, Feb. 3 the city government said the ordinance, titled “An Ordinance For The Implementation of the COVID-19 Immunization Program of Davao City,” covers all residents of Davao City and non-residents within the territorial jurisdiction of the city during the effectivity of the program.
The age, gender, and other requirements will be based on the guidelines by the national government.
Under the Ordinance the City Health Office (CHO), along with the DOH Center for Health Development-Davao, is mandated to formulate a community-based COVID-19 immunization plan.

The ordinance was filed by Councilor Mary Joselle Villafuerte, chairperson of the Committee on Health.
