NAVAL, Biliran, Jan. 11 (PIA) For the first quarter of 2021, the office of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Biliran province targeted to register at least 26,000 household heads from the low-income families of the province to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
Republic Act No. 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act mandates the establishment of a single national identification system to register all Filipinos and resident aliens of the Republic of the Philippines.
Renavil V. Cueva, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Biliran, informed that the Office of the President directed the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) and PSA to fast-track the implementation of PhilSys to assist in the identification of qualified beneficiaries for emergency subsidy programs addressing the Covid-19 health crisis.
