More than 100,000 residents vaccinated in San Juan City

Mayor Francis Zamora “We are happy to announce that as of July 14, the city government of San Juan has already vaccinated a total of 100,217 individuals with their first dose,” San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said in a statement. “According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the projected population of San Juan for 2021 is 123,031, 70 percent of which is 86,122. Thus, San Juan has already vaccinated 116 percent of its target population. Based on the Asian Development Bank, the 2021 projected population of San Juan is 132,512, 70 percent of which is 92,858. With that, San Juan has already vaccinated 108 percent of its target population,” he added.

PH s rice stocks fall by 7 5 percent in May

Published July 16, 2021, 1:21 PM Despite an expected increase in rice production and imports, the Philippines’ rice inventory had slipped by 7.5 percent or to 2.58 million metric tons (MT) as of May. The latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed that the rice stocks inventory of the country was 7.5 percent lower than the 2.79 million MT recorded in the same period last year. Compared to the previous month’s level of 2.44 million MT, however, the current inventory was higher by 5.8 percent. Year-on-year, rice stocks were lower in all sectors, namely household, commercial, and National Food Authority (NFA). To be specific, household stocks went down by 6.2 percent, commercial warehouses stocks by 4.0 percent, and NFA depositories by 24.2 percent.
