+ February 05, 2021 RESIDENTS of San Simon town, Pampanga were warned about individuals who are making alleged fake surveys using the name of the Office of the Mayor.
Based on reports of residents, the surveyors, who allegedly identify themselves as employees of the local government, conduct an interview via phone supposedly as part of the annual census activity.
The callers allegedly know the names of respondents and ask about the number of members per family and their addresses.
Mayor Abundio Punsalan, Jr. said he did not delegate anybody from the local government to conduct such surveys. The local government is not conducting any survey now and anybody who is doing such activity, particularly those who identify themselves as part of my office are fake, he said.

+ December 18, 2020 THE Office of the City Mayor recently released an executive order banning the sale of liquor and regulating social gatherings. Of course, this is all in relation to mitigating the spread of the coronavirus.
Over the weekend, I was invited to a baptism reception. The day before the said event, my friend sent me a message that they are canceling the event. Officials from their barangay cited the executive order from the Mayor’s Office as the basis for now allowing the event. On the day of the event, I received a message from my friend informing me that the event will push through as planned.

Rep. Edgar Erice of Caloocan City’s second district, aired his strong objection to the passage of House Bill 7700 authored by First District Rep. Dale “Along” Malapitan, son of incumbent Mayor Oscar Malapitan.
Erice and the young Malapitan are expected to square off for the mayoralty post when the incumbent mayor ends his third and final term as local chief executive in 2022.
Tarlac Rep. Noel Villanueva, chairman of the House Committee on Local Government, fiercely defended HB 7700 against Erice’s criticism that the bill sought to create a “super district” and is “without logic”.
Erice also said he also doubted the bill had the support of Caloocan City residents.
