Man shot and injured in front yard of Billings residence

BILLINGS â A domestic disturbance ended when a man was shot in the leg in the front yard of a mid-town Billings neighborhood late Thursday morning.
According to Billings Police Chief Rich St. John, a teenage boy shot a man in the leg after the man had tried to punch his way into the residence at 1438 Ave. B. St John said the incident began at a nearby restaurant as a disturbance involving a man and a woman.
The woman retreated to the house on Avenue B where the man followed her. The man then punched through the glass window of the screen door.
One week ago, on April 27, BPD reported two shootings.
21-28844 Shooting - Male victim 33 yoa received a single gunshot wound. Non-life threatening injury. He was transported to a hospital. The victim was located at 313 1/2 S 28th St. He reported the shooting happened west of this location. Incidents appear to be linked.
The following day, April 28, a 39-year-old man was reportedly shot while driving his car.

Then, on May 1, BPD tweeted that two women were shot at a Billings motel.
21-29981 Shooting - Two female victims, 37 and 16 yoa, each received single gunshot during a disturbance near the 1400 block of 1st Ave N. Wounds were non-life threatening and they were transported to hospital. Investigation ongoing.

(UPDATE, 10 a.m.) The hostage situation in the Heights ended just before 10 a.m. Police said the hostages were released and were not harmed. The suspect surrendered and was taken into custody. The suspect s name has not yet been released. Chief St. John said he will conduct a news conference later today to provide information about the incident.
(UPDATE, 9:25 a.m.) A woman in black pants and a blue shirt ran out of home at about 9:20 a.m. Police patted her down. It appears that police in SWAT gear have entered the home.

BILLINGS - The Billings Police Department identified Monday the man arrested following a standoff with hostages at a Heights residence.
Police said 47-year-old Donald Foster was arrested after 9 a.m. when he agreed to come out of the residence. An 18-year-old woman who he had allegedly been taken hostage was also freed.
Foster is being held on possible charges of assault with a weapon, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated sexual intercourse without consent.
The incident began shortly before 2 a.m. Monday when officers responded to a 911 call from a 77-year-old woman who said she was being held hostage by Foster. She was able to run and escaped from the residence, police said.

(UPDATE, 2:45 p.m.) Police have identified the suspect as 47-year-old Donald Foster. He was arrested after 9 a.m. when he agreed to come out of the residence with an 18-year-old woman who he had allegedly taken hostage.
