She said: “I am pleased that this is going to stop COVID and I can start going back to the hairdressers on a Thursday to get my hair done.” Both Blackpool Teaching Hospitals and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust were among the 50 hospital hubs in England where Covid-19 vaccines were to be administered in the first wave of the immunisation programme.

While in Pendle 5,368 people have tested positive since March, an increase of 201 since the weekend.
SITES in Blackburn, Burnley and Accrington are set to start taking deliveries of the coronavirus vaccine this week. Community sites in Burnley, Chorley, Preston, Blackpool, Barrow-in-Furness and Lytham St Annes will start receiving deliveries today with Blackburn, Accrington, Lancaster and Ormskirk following tomorrow. Nurses, paramedics, pharmacists and other NHS staff will work alongside GPs to vaccinate those aged 80 and over, as well as care home workers and residents, identified as priority groups for the life-saving vaccine.
